Tonight I finally sat down and finished watching Samurai Champloo. I thought it was pretty old, but apparently it released in like 2004/2005-ish. I remember seeing it on Cartoon Network when I was younger and I never really liked it. I haven't watched any anime's in a while so I thought I'd give this one another shot. After such a long wait, I have to say, I flippin loved it. It was very relaxing and entertaining to watch. I don't do any power-watching anymore like I used to in 8th and 9th grade so I would only watch an episode or two every other day.
I usually only watched Samurai Champloo when I was eating or when I just didn't feel like doing anything else. The beautiful artwork and awesome music from Nujabes is what made it relaxing to watch for me, but on the flip side it occasionally switched between action and comedy which made it really fun to watch.
To be honest, I really wanted to write a review for Samurai Champloo just because it sounded like fun, but I don't think I can do it. How cool would it be if I could write reviews for movies, books, tv shows, and other things on my blog? It would be tons of fun! Unfortunately, I'm a very biased person, and I usually love anything that entertains me even the slightest bit. My opinion is also very easily swayed when I read other peoples' reviews or opinions. On top of that, I just don't have the vocabulary of what I see in average reviews. My writing ability is like that of a 12 year old's. Oh well, I still enjoy writing these blogs about random shtuff anyways.
*EDIT: As you can see, the above paragraph was written in like.. all three tenses..... I'm just that bad.
Back when I was younger, I usually didn't watch most animes unless they had really high ratings or involved some sort of romance. I was just always a sucker for that kind of stuff. I'm glad I can open my doors to more genres now. From what I've read online, Samurai Champloo was from the makers of Cowboy Bebop, which people claim to be even better. I looked into it a little and it doesn't look like it appeals to me as much, but I might give it a shot.
