Yesterday at school was boring. Wake up at 7:00am, sleep in my first boring music class at 9:00 until 10:15, wait 3 hours until math at 1:30 until 2:35, then go home... That's two classes over the course of like 7 hours. That's how all of my mondays and wednesdays are. Tuesdays (today) and thursdays have 3 classes. I wake up and arrive to school at the same time, but my first class isn't until 10:30am. So today I took a nap in the library for an hour and a half... We did some kindergarten activity walking around the classroom in english.. Math was boring and there was no point in going to speech class today...
Simply put I feel like I'm wasting time. I feel like I've been spending my first semester of college life just... waiting... I'm waiting for each class to start, then I wait for each class to end.. They're not THAT challenging (yet). I'm waiting for the semester to end so I can get the next prerequisite over with before I start taking engineering classes. Fulfilling requirements is one thing, but having to WAIT for them to be fulfilled sucks..
*sigh* Patience is a virtue. I need to just keep waiting and keep my grades up..
On a side note, I plan on getting a laptop for college finally! I was always against laptops because desktops were so much better, but I see now that laptops are extremely useful to college students. I personally want one with at least 3-4 GB of RAM, 2Ghz dual or quad core processor, 14-15" monitor, and uhh... Well with those specs, everything else should be enough. I wanted the hard drive to have 7200rpm but 5400 is acceptable. Any amount of hard drive space will be acceptable too. Preferably windows 7. And it would be really nice to have a decent video card in it too so I could play videogames. How awesome would it be to be able to spend my 3 hour lunch breaks playing starcraft? Loner-status, I know, but still... awesome... Also seems like a good opportunity to try out that game, Minecraft. It looks fun! If I do manage to get a laptop (capable of gaming) then I'm gonna need a mouse too... My mom is more than willing to get me one for christmas.
Speaking of christmas, I also want a digital camera! Is that girly? Now that I'm blogging and whatnot, I think it would be a lot more fun to be able to add pictures to my blogs! I can't wait until I transfer out to Davis and I'll be dorming and whatnot (probably), and I could have a camera to help me blog about all of my first experiences living without being a momma's boy. The thought of it makes me look forward to it for some reason.
Ugh, community college..

College Rant Randomness:
My music class is absolutely pointless. My instructor is basically the music teacher who teaches how to play instruments and whatnot. You can tell he's not a very good classroom teacher though. I'm taking what's called Jazz Styles, and it's pretty much supposed to be a jazz history class, but we don't really do much. He stalls the first 15-20 minutes of class asking us what's new (news, sports, politics, etc). He reads his powerpoint slides to the class and gives us crossword puzzles that have the test questions and answers on them for each chapter... The amount of extra credit is so immense that if we do all of it, we can choose NOT to take the final exam and still pass the class with an A. Because our grades would be WAAAYY over 100%... I can understand this is a transferable class to UC/CSU, but this is just a waste of my time and money.. UGH
My english teacher has extremely low standards for a college level english class (English 1A). His teaching methods aren't that great, but he doesn't expect anything that my high school teachers expected out of me. We're not reading a single book in the class either. All we do is write essays which he holds our hands through. He GIVES the class thesis sentences we could use on our essays. They're usually really shitty too. I don't give in to that crap though, I make up my own thesis statements... Half of me says "Awesome! This class is easy!" and the other half says "This is ridiculous.." I keep getting this feeling that the quality of the teachers at Chabot just aren't that great..
Referring to the above statement, I took a "Transfer" class that was supposed to teach us how to transfer out in 2 years and whatnot. What I learned over the course of that quarter is what I learned in 30 minutes with one of the school counselors... Waste of unit money, book money, and time. The class wasn't even transferable.
Some of my friends have been looking for college parties, but really..? You aren't going to find much around where I live. Or at least I don't think so. I was never the party type anyways..
Oh yeah! My cell phone is soo bad now, it turns off randomly on me and I have to charge it 3 times a day. It only lasts 3-6 hours before it's dead! Depending on how much I use it. I really need a new one..
I called gamestop yesterday and the guy told me he would look at my application LAST NIGHT and call me TODAY which obviously didn't happen. The guy sounded like it would be a chore to go read my application.. I really need to start looking in other places. Maybe that will help my boredom.
Ugh, community college..
